Selecting a Home Unit
To which School should I apply? The MS HCI degree is offered collaboratively by the School of Interactive Computing, The School of Literature, Communications and Culture, and the School of Psychology. You should apply to one of these three schools, depending on your undergraduate background and professional experience.
With an undergraduate degree in computer science, informatics, math, engineering or similar, you will want to apply via the School of Interactive Computing. Your degree will be the MS in HCI from the School of Interactive Computing in the College of Computing.
With an undergraduate degree in art and design disciplines (such as industrial design, interaction design, visual arts, digital media, architecture, media and culture studies, or similar) you will want to apply via the School of Literature, Communications and Culture. Your degree will be the MS in HCI from the School of Literature, Communications and Culture in the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts.
With an undergraduate degree in psychology, sociology or other social sciences, you will want to apply via the School of Psychology. Your degree will be the MS in HCI from the School of Psychology in the College of Sciences.
