Pardha Pyla is the Chief Experience Officer (CXO) and Vice-President of Product Development at Cloudistics, an innovative startup creating products to dramatically simplify how businesses build, deploy, and manage application services in private and public clouds. Before that he was the Global Head of Mobile Design for the Professional Service at Bloomberg LP. He is the co-author of an award-winning and comprehensive textbook on user experience titled "The UX Book: Process and Guidelines for Ensuring a Quality User Experience.” Dr. Pyla’s academic background includes research, teaching, and consulting. At Virginia Tech he worked on user experience methodologies and taught graduate and undergraduate courses in HCI and software engineering. He is a pioneering researcher in the area of connecting software engineering and usability engineering lifecycle processes. Dr. Pyla has a bachelors degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering, masters degrees in both Computer Engineering and Computer Science, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science.
